And Obama politicos have used it wisely. But, don't get your hopes too high just yet. The computer model of society is embroiled within the corporate model of society, business governs the world.

The outlook for me is a new frontier of slave to another system. Which will be ruled in large part by it's components, such as the insurance industry and mega-control of necessities such as the oil Arabs, who are busy converting to solar energy supply. It will be a new era based on the ancient Chinese wisdom from the Book of Changes, "To rule is to serve." but corrupted by profit.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3965076219235086304.post-89149242425358811362008-12-29T11:56:00.000-08:002008-12-29T11:56:00.000-08:00M: I agree with that. Ironically, Nixon was not particularly corporate himself, but more like a king, like Bush, a political monster who saw the necessary alliance with corporate wealth to grab political power. And, isn't this an old American story? I mean, Adams and Jefferson saw the problem of corporate power. Many a president has acted on the fringes of law in concert with money.

P: Perhaps it's easy, really, to see why they elect these people. Fear, and the void it collectively creates, whether induced artificially or immeshed in the cultural consciousness by conditioning, is the reason. First off, the Bush election was stolen by computer fraud. Then the fear of changing course midstream won the second Bush election. People are conditioned to think they need a certain kind of strong leader, the aggressive, kingly type. After all, we are mostly descendents of Europeans.

And Nixon was key in creating the fear that got him in power. Political manipulators have long known how to keep people corralled long enough to win elections. When they can't, they resort to stealth.

Our "democracy" has always had a major flaw, it can't keep businessmen from influencing government.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3965076219235086304.post-49617094650055950972008-12-29T09:32:00.000-08:002008-12-29T09:32:00.000-08:00Although I've not found it expressed as such among...Although I've not found it expressed as such among the enormous amount of literature on the Nixon Presidency; It seems in hindsight that Nixon was the pivotal figure in America's transition from rule of law and Jeffersonian/New Deal democracy to an increasingly Corporate Republic, whose goals are realized completely irrespective of the American electorate.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
