Shame on Texas: an assassintion, an oil family in cahoots with Saudis, a blustering man who wouldn't stop a war, the dirtiest of politics, a beer buddy for a president, and a lobbying mob beyond all sanity, not to mention addictions to commodoties, oil and beef that are killing a whole nation.
The lone star is a perfect epithet for that shameful place.

re: W
WE should not overlook the brilliant Stone approach. He HAS devastated the man, made a mockery of him, and touched a human sense of the flawed, while teaching, not preaching, what can go wrong when the viewer, the voter is dumb. All this and more, W teaches Republicans without them being able to point their fingers at hyperbole.
One of a family of films that is teaching people what goes on inside the White House. They understand how the world's being affected wihtout any further pointing out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3965076219235086304.post-7696376569026083212008-10-29T14:16:00.000-07:002008-10-29T14:16:00.000-07:00I can't even talk about Bush - he's a war criminal...I can't even talk about Bush - he's a war criminal and a dunce and it twists me up to think about him.

But I worry for Obama, too - he'll be inheriting a lot of huge problems, and the war is only on eof them. Still, I fervently hope he does inherit them and can at least start turning us around.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3965076219235086304.post-17492593365405488972008-10-29T12:50:00.000-07:002008-10-29T12:50:00.000-07:00i see your assessment of bush not as judgmental bu...i see your assessment of bush not as judgmental but rather as accurate.

i too came to see johnson in a different, more sympathetic light after his death, but i will be quite surprised if either of us softens our view of bush. he shows none, not an iota, of the humanity and ultimate humility of johnson.

as for obama, i agree that the potential is great. as thom hartmann says though, we all need to push him to be more progressive.rogerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05910951099847351232noreply@blogger.com
