For Lady Bird...

I saw, just now
the repeat of
an old televison
interview with
Charles Kuralt &
the late Lady
Bird Johnson
on the subject
of her beloved
wildflowers, their
talk interspersed
with images of
daisies, Texas
bluebonnets &
a thousand other
beauties; & I
thought, they
are both gone,
sadly, these two
human beings,
with Lady Bird
now so lately
departed; & then
I thought, but
not before those
flowers died, all
of them, the
myriad of them,
gone; & then
I thought, yes,
everything is
as it should be,
no? Everything
is just exactly
as it should be.
