... last night at the home of our good friends and neighbors (and loyal readers of The Buddha Diaries.) A special occasion warranted a special feast, and we decided on lobster...
I will admit to feeling more than a little squeamish when we stopped by the market to pick up the still living creatures. Good Buddhist that I am, I kindly allowed our friends to pop them in the pot; but, once they were cooked, I offered expert instruction on how they should be taken apart and eaten. Unfortunately, my group picture came out blurry (sorry, Mary! Do you want to email me a substitute?) But here's Ellie with the courageous chef and chief executioner for the evening, Brian...
And here's the feast laid out...
Actually, delicious. We ended up watching Annie Hall, with its famous lobster scene. And walked home in what passes in Laguna Beach for "freezing" weather (fifties; cold, for us) in time to watch a tape-delay of the falling ball in Times Square, three hours before. I know, it's confusing...
Pax et lux! Fond regards from your blogger and faithful companion, looking forward...
