BEAR WITH ME...

NOTE TO TBD READERS: PLEASE GO HERE.

Friends, I'm noticing a change in what I feel I need to do.  Watching, as I do, the political scene, I am more and more dismayed by the rhetoric and tactics of those whose primary purpose is to drive President Obama out of office.

I do not agree with those who shrug and write it off as "politics as usual."  I do not agree that "both sides are equally to blame."  I do not subscribe to the argument I hear frequently from Republicans and echoed slavishly in the media, that Obama's campaign is dirty politics while Romney's is nothing but defense against the onslaught.  As Senator Harry Reid was finally moved to say the other day, 'Poppycock!"

It becomes clearer by the day that Republicans have no wish to engage on an even playing field. I believe they know that they will lose, if common sense, decency and reason prevail.  So moneyed interests and well-funded propaganda are poised to seize the White House and everything else they can grab, and they are in a powerful position to achieve their goals.

I can't sit by and do nothing.  Perhaps I should be manning phone banks, joining fund-raising drive, pounding the streets.  Perhaps I'll do that as election day grows closer.  In the meantime, I'm asking those who follow what I write to support my efforts on the small platform that I have: the blog.  Please join me on Vote Obama 2012.  Please comment, send valuable links, write an opinion piece for me to post--or collaborate as a contributor yourself.  I can set that up.

In the meantime, I might well be posting less frequently on The Buddha Diaries.  We can't just let this happen!

Great nations are simply the operating fronts of behind-the-scenes, vastly ambitious individuals who had become so effectively powerful because of their ability to remain invisible while operating behind the national scenery.
R. Buckminster Fuller

I think this is exactly what Romney intends employ each day. I have signed up to do phone bank work for Obama during the last two weeks when
undecided independent voters are most likely to decide which way to vote.

Romney is another DUBYA like puppet that the Rove camp in BANKING on.

Excerpt from The Atlantic Wire:
When Romney hosted a gala retreat for individual contributors at a Utah resort in late June, Rove spoke on a panel and mingled as a featured guest. Presumably, he did not coordinate with the campaign, but how would you categorize what he did do? As noted, Crossroads co-founder Gillespie, who has his own consulting firm, is now working for Romney. Crossroads’ political director, Carl Forti, helped start and advises the Romney-devoted super PAC Restore Our Future. There is no shortage of cross-pollination.

You know I'll join you in the work that must be done!

In passing as I wondered what can just a few people do
I remembered my favorite quote from a wise soul I have the honor to meet when I was young:

"Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have."
Margaret Mead
