More Jury Duty...

A sleepless night, filled with obsessive thoughts about courtrooms, judges, attorneys...  I have to show up again at court this morning.

They got me, see?  And to add insult to injury, they got me as an alternate, so I don't even get to make my voice heard unless at least two other jurors drop out along the way.

Still, I'm determined, at this point, to regard this turn of events as a privilege, not a curse, and to find the experience as interesting and engaging as possible.  No accidents.  It will be a fine opportunity not only to see the justice system at work from within, but also to observe my own capacity for patience, attention, and compassion.  It will be a challenge to keep an open mind, I think, and to be equally compassionate to both sides in this civil case.

I have to say too, however, that this may well forbode fewer entries in The Buddha Diaries in the coming days. Bear with me...

I love the gentle way in which you surrendered to..."What is..." I look forward to your next entry!
We will all be enriched by your compassionate approach to this experience.
