NAKED DAY

NAKED DAY

Wouldn't you love
to have a Naked

Day at the museum?
We'd have to check

our clothes and shoes,
our bags and chattels,

all that artifice,
cell phones, notepads,

everything in baskets
in the lobby.  Then

would wander naked,
all of us, humans,

in the galleries, awed
as much by the beauty

and articulation
of the human form

as by the Rubens,
for example, or

the Caravaggios
hanging on the walls.

Would that not be
a lark--not to mention

a real revelation
about humankind?

Maybe... the Met?
